Disability Act Impact Analysis: People with a Disability Survey

Tell us what you think.

This survey is about what you think of the Disability Act 2006 (the Act) and
how good you think the act is at:

· Looking after the rights and needs of people with a disability

· Helping the whole community to support people with a disability

· Making sure that services for people with a disability are of high quality.

Who can answer the questions?

· People with disabilities.

friend or advocate. The support worker can only put in the answers that the
person with a disability wants. Support workers cannot put in their own answers.

· Families or carers of people with disabilities.

· People with disabilities and their families/carers together.

The questions are about:

· Information about the person with a disability

· Information about the services the person with a disability uses

New National Standards for Disability Services

The Victorian Coalition Government is seeking public input into the national
standards for disability services in preparation for a National Disability
Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The national standards sets the benchmark for disability services, so that no
matter where in Australia an individual, family member or carer accesses
disability support, they will know they can expect the same level of high
quality service.

"We are therefore seeking feedback on the" Ms Wooldridge said.

There are a number of ways that people could contribute to the first draft of
the national standards for disability services, as part of the National Quality
Framework project.

· Complete the online national survey at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NSDS

· Attend a workshop or focus group across Australia, with specific focus groups
for people from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and other
culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

· Written submissions are being accepted until 15 June 2012.
