Activate: Professional Development Program
Arts Access Victoria is offering 15 fully-subsidised places in Activate, a new
five-week intensive professional development program for artists and producers
with disability who live in Victoria.
Led by acclaimed artist and director Caroline Bowditch and AAV's own Pathways
manager Fiona Cook, this professional development program will cover essential
themes in contemporary arts and disability practice, including:
* Building your profile as an artist or producer - and how your diversity
is your greatest asset
* Project planning 101 - the essentials of getting any creative project up
and running
* Aesthetic access - how to build access and inclusion into your artistic
vision
* Understanding principles of inclusive practice - how to embed a culture
of inclusion in your artistic projects
* Unlocking power and privilege in disability arts collaborations
* Building support for your creative projects and aspirations
* All those questions about funding - how to source it and manage it
The professional development program will run over five weeks in March 2017.
The structure of the program includes both group and one on one sessions.
Workshop dates
* Thursday 2 March, 10am-4pm
* Thursday 9 March, 10am-4pm
* Thursday 16 March, 10am-4pm
* Thursday 23 March, 10am-4pm
* Thursday 30 March, 10am-4pm
Participants will also have the opportunity to co-design elements of the
program to suit their particular needs and interests.
Eligibility
This program is specifically for people with disability who are residents in
Victoria. You must be available to attend all the sessions.
How to apply
Please submit an Expression of Interest form which can be obtained by email to

accepted.
