I am trying to edit one of my OvationPro files on SA RiscPC 4.39. Using
latest version of OvPro (6-Nov-08).
Every time I attempt to type I get a type=5 error.
If I save it as a DDL file it refuses to reload giving the error:
Object already created @ 7436
I've now got hold of this problem file. Some comments here for general
interest.
First when I load the document, OP tells me it is corrupt - it is a good
idea to use OP choices to enable the feature that checks documents when
loading them - the sooner you know a document is corrupt the better.
I load the document, save as DDL, and then reload the DDL, I get (as
above) an error message about an object already created.
I then loaded the DDL into a text editor and went to line 7442 (I'm,
using OP on Windows so the line number is slightly different), I found:
STORY_114={story
{adduserstyle STYLE_01}{endoftext}
}
If I delete that set of three lines then the DDL will load. Elsewhere in
the DDL there is another STORY_114.
Alas this is not the end of things. The DDL now reloads, but saving
again as DDL produces something which again complains about two copies
of story 114.
The problem is apparently that the auto linked main frames on the two
pages of the document have become unlinked - one can see this by
selecting the link tool. Anyway open Edit Master pages, make a trivial
change, close master pages. The frames are now correctly linked and the
document will save and reload.
