Is this on Windows or RISC OS - which version are you using?


3. Make another empty text frame.
This time select all the text and copy to the clipboard, then paste
into the empty frame. The indent setup seems to be lost.
Step 3 is a different operation to the others - are the other steps necessary or will it go wrong if you start with step 3, I would suggest looking at the clipboard and seeing if the text is formatted there.
I presume the indents are done as text effects rather than as styles, anyway that's how I did them and things worked as one would want, formatting in step 3 was the same as in the other steps.
