I still haven't found a way to put "Network Neighbourhood" up though.
As Franz said you can right click on NN on the start menu.
Plan B, right click on the desktop, choose Properties, then "Customise
Desktop".
On Vista, right click on the start menu, only works on My Computer.
However right click on the desktop gives Personalize and (IMHO) hard to
see, there are on the right some things you can click on "Change Desktop
Icons" (which lets you bring back Network) and "Adjust font size (DPI)".
My point was are we a victim of fashion. Back in '95 did MS say
"wow look! we've put My Computer on the desktop"
only for in '01 them to say
"My Computer on the desktop is bad, we'll let you do this if you insist
but we'd rather you didn't".
Looking at how they have arranged Personalize I'm inclined to think
they're just messing about.
