Thanks for pointing this out. If you use a command window to enter 

dir /a \ProgramData

you will find that several of the entries are of type "junction", effectively
symbolic links to other objects. In my system C:\ProgramData\Application Data
points to C:\ProgramData which looks dangerously near to being recursive 8-} 
Where I have followed a link to the real file, I have so far been able to
open it. This could be seen as a foul-up resulting from Explorer not being
updated to manage "Junctions" properly or a conspiracy to keep us from our
data. Whatever, it's an annoyance.
