That is one of the jokes, I would cheerfully throw away Windows,
but I use OP and there is no Linux version of it, I also can
program most effectively on Windows.
I know I could move to Linux (or the Mac) but it would take a lot
of time and effort.
Pity ... I suspect OP would do better in the Mac world there are
fewer native DTP packages, essentially QuarkXPress and InDesign
(both of which are expensive) or Scribus (opensource, but doesn't
look very user friendly or polished).

Indeed. There are surprising gaps for Mac users. One feature that I
think is only available from the above expensive programs is the
ability to create PDFs with bookmarks generated from the document
structure. So if this was possible with OP it would be a great
advantage.
