I have upgraded DplingScan and installed the version of Twain supplied 
by David. But still no joy. Only progress is that switching off the 
scanner sometimes returns control. Turning it back on and using 
USBkick then reports the device as Frozen(&0110). Kicking it again 
reports it as working, but then trying to scan still causes the 
freeze. So maybe it is the USB firmware. Looks like a trip to CJE 
MIcros is in order.
