Just to put another cat among the pigeons ...
Consider a transparent GIF (B&W image on a transparent background)
placed in a picture frame within an OPW document.
1. Print to file with DirectPS selected (overprint off) and image
appears in the PDF as it should -- except I have an uneditable PDF,
which in this case is not what I want.
2. Print to Acrobat Distiller (or to file with DirectPS off, and then to
Distiller) and the picture appears in the PDF as a BLACK rectangle.
3. Drop the GIF into MSWORD and print to Acrobat Distiller (same
settings as above) and the image is visible in the PDF.
So, why am I getting the black rectangle using method 2? Can anyone
suggest how to resolve the problem and still get an editable PDF?
