photos (or something else) are 'invading' the space of the text frame. For
instance, if you have one of your photo frames overlapping the text frame,
you need to turn the 'text flow' to 'none'. This will mean that the picture
does not cause text to wrap around it, and the text in the text frame will
be left where you put it.

Quite right. If you don't want frames to move text in other frames then it is a good idea to set text flow to 'none'.
