While spreadsheets can indeed create tables, Tablemate does do it a bit
better and more presentably even these days. Further I find that the
html output from Tablemate is far better, shorter and more usable that
that from Schema, my risc os spreadsheet of choice.

Tablemate first appeared with Impression for precisely this sort of
linking purpose. When I used to use Impression, this was a pleasure to
exercise.

It looks like I and many others disagree with you, again. The later
versions of Tablemate are not a waste of space and it remains a pleasure
to use. I even look forward to the forthcoming update.
