For whatever it is worth, I have been having the much the same problem
with SyncDisc for a year or two.

I have not cleared out Scrap but I have an obey file to close down many
running applications including all archivers and, now, CDROMFS.

It just stops somewhere in the middle for no discernible reason in the
log.

This is on an Iyonix with ROS 5.12.
