I had a similar problem with an old version of Sparkplug. (The related
apps are a complete coincidence). I had renamed it !OldSparkPlug as I
didn't want it to be booted. I forgot that every application in the
Apps directory gets booted, regardless of its name.

To qualify as an Application, it appears to need a name beginning !,
and to possess a !boot file. It doesn't need a sprite file containing
a sprite whose name matches the application - in this case the sprite
was still called SparkPlug, so the folder didn't display the correct
icon. It still got booted.

Since it was a 1993 version I deleted it.
