Unsurprisingly, I had the same problem, and found the same solution after
much cursing and faffing about. Did also report the problem but heard
nothing.

Although perhaps not the place to mention it - I also had problems trying
to install a Postscript PDF for HP1200 LJ with !Printers 1.75. I managed
to do so (also after much faffing) only by squashing the PDF first.
Installing !Printers 1.75 was not a pleasant experience. Now seems ok
apart from the iconbar printer icon being labelled 'Paused' when not
printing.
