I copied the
output from OmniPage Pro to the Windows clipboard, then pasted it into
a blank OPW document. There followed much CPU activity, ending with
OPW becoming unresponsive and having to be "killed" via the Task Manager.
I wonder what ended up on the clipboard - text or graphics, or possibly
both.
I would be inclined to save the output as a file and then load that file
into OP, at least you then know what you're doing.
In fact I tried it three different ways ...
1. Copy OmniPage output --> Clipboard --> OPW document (would have
included text + graphics)
2. Omnipage --> WORD 2003 --> Clipboard --> OPW (incl. text + graphics)
3. Omnipage --> Clipboard --> Notepad++ (graphics lost) --> Clipboard
--> OPW (text only)
OPW reacted the same way in each case. Without the graphics, the
document size is 13,397 words / 68,796 characters (no spaces) / 82,092
characters (with spaces) / 1,386 lines.
This morning, I saved the OmniPage output as a plain text file (using
Notepad++), then drag and dropped the text file into a blank OPW
document ... same result! So, not a Clipboard issue, I presume.
I also notice that when I open up the Windows Task Manager to kill the
OPW application, there are two identical entries for OPW in the
Applications pane. Both say, "<Task> Document 1.dpd * at 90%
<Status> Not responding". Is this normal? Killing one removes both entries.
Could this be a bad install of OPW? If so, I haven't noticed any problem
editing files created previously in OPW.
