You should never be afeared to ask question Michael, particularly on RO
oriented groups, as most of the folks here are quite understanding and
helpful.
I've learned a lot over the years asking questions, and I hope I've also
helped a few with my answers to their questions.

(Some Windows and a *lot* of Linux Ngs are the nasty places, where the
advocates spend too much time with heads up rectum to be civilised and
offer help to others).

Michael, the fonts names don't have to be the same, though obviously the
point of the exercise is to use a font as similar as possible in structure.

To use my recent example with Fay's problem.
The RISCOS font is called "Hayleys.Shadow" but as such it doesn't exist in
Truetype form, however, a very, very close match on the PC/TT side does
exist but with a different name "Becker Shadow" and it is a Truetype font
not a postscript font as such.

So in the OvPro Win Menu bar-Misc-Font manager (Map button)I have...
Typeface: Hayleys.Shadow
Weight: Hayleys.Shadow (It only has one default weight, no bold or italic)
Windows name: Becker Shadow

If you click through the default mappings, you'll find things like
Homerton mapped to Arial and so on...

There is an Applet in Ov pro "Fontlist" that will produce a list of the
fonts used in a currently loaded document, I also have it in my Win OvPro.

With regard to your particular template problem... What you must also do
on the RO side, is make sure any Styles that might contain font references
are deleted.

For example, in my default OvPro document, I have a heading Style that
contains a different font to the Bodytext (default style of 12pt Trinity).

The Header style is Homerton and Bold.

As a last resort, I guess you could save the document as a DDLFile, stick
it in Zap (or whatever) and manually remove any references to the
additional fonts...

Not sure if Mr P., would approve of that method though?

No, it was a Truetype font.
My Windows Font manager does contain a few Postscript fonts, but when I'm
searching I usually stick to Truetypes.

Hope that's of use.

Best wishes for the New year
