So it would seem that possibly some or other de-activated applet in
your applet directory remains somehow active and leads to this
flickering you experience.
Just a thought, the "flickering" may depend on how much memory anyone's
copy of OP happens to use...
For example your copy uses 31K and whatever is going on claims another
2K, that happens to step over a memory allocation chunk (say every 4K so
31 goes to 33 and goes over the chunk boundary at 32). Someone else's
copy may use 29K another 2K on top of 29 gives 31, not enough to go into
another chunk.
So it wouldn't be the particular applets, it would be how many applets
and how much other stuff was loaded.
It is very difficult to get identical instances of a program - for one
thing you need to have exactly the same fonts installed.
