 ????  After earlier messages I now believe there is a stronger 
inter-action between OP and applets and applets between them.

Initially when I started testing, I took out all applets. OP did not 
like this as the Macro file expected an active Nudge applet. I put 
that in plus (alphabetically) the first 4 of my list. And checked. As 
soon as flickering started I deleted 2 applets and checked again. 
Etc., etc.

That is how I came to my first evaluation. I did not mention IdxPro as 
a valid 32-bit version is not freely available. I also experienced 
flickering having added some applets. Which stopped when I added 
another applet ...
  Time permitting I'll try to investigate further.

I have not tried out your set up. But am astonished to see that you do 
not have the !ColSupp applet active.
