Why would the 64-but version of Windows be so important? It seems to
be that it is aimed at those running big servers, huge databases, etc.
The rest of us will just be dragged along for the ride, when/if we
decide to upgrade to a new PC and 32-bit hardware is no longer a good
price performer.

However, Microsoft is ending support for Windows 98 (and ME) on 30
June 2006 (meaning no more fixes). That looks a more reasonable event
on which to base decisions about Ovation Pro support. I assume that
older versions of Ovation Pro would still continue to work. Microsoft
does not want the expense of supporting multiple versions of Windows -
why should we expect David to continue supporting an obsolete
operating system (at this point, I don my flame proof suit).=20

(Of course, support for XP Home is scheduled to end two years after
the release of Windows Vista, although XP Pro get supported until
2010.)
