And both open correctly in Pages and in TextEdit for Mac.The only oddity is a lowercase 'g' two lines below the last sentence in the ImpTest1.rtf document.
Looking at the basic source, there is quite a difference between the two documents in the preamble before the actual text, though both begin with the standard {\rtf1\ansi .
Microsoft Word for Mac (2004) won't open Tester1.rtf : the program freezes, but ImpTest1.rtf is OK.
