Thank you Bernard for the prompt, I'll get to that later, first some
additional material.
Well folks...
Upon rising early this AM, I got at it again, and after an uninstall of
*everything* David Pilling, I reinstalled from the original OvPro Win CD
as Administrator. Obviously wouldn't run as it was too old, but
immediately did an update over it, which ran, produced the error and
required my Reg Key which I input, it accepted.
As per before, OvPro will Run, present the error message, which if I click
past does actually load a skeleton OvPro, which is usable, but cannot be
reconfigured in any way, Toolbar, Save Default doc etc, but will load,
edit and Save a .dpd document.
I did wonder if it might just be a win 7 thing, so I've also run it in
Compatibility mode for XP SP3, no change.
A load of other boring things done, and more reinstalls and uninstalls.
Spent a lot of time Googling for the Error message, and while I found
quite a bit of stuff about the first part of the message, I found nothing
of use about the second part.
Now we come to Bernard's suggestion, and a good idea it was...
So got Revo to do the FULL business, then again reinstalled from the
original CD, updated, entered key... Boing... Nothing has changed.
Sorry Bernard, but thanks for the suggestion.
I wish I knew exactly what the damn words in the error meant.
'The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect'
What does that actually mean?
'(Create Directory) (123) (<HKEY_CURENT_USER)'
What does that exactly mean?
It appears I should create a directory (Name?) containing (123) in
HKEY_CURENT_USER... What name, and why is the OvPro installer not
automatically doing it?
Anyone have any fresh ideas as I'm about out of places to go thing to do
etc.
Thanks
Dave
