[softwarelist] OPro seeming slow

here's me still slogging on this abatross book job. (it's not about
seafaring birds, it's just been hanging around my neck for a year.)
at the moment i'm copying individual picture captions from their
temporary location all on p.2 to their proper spots next to embedded
pictures.
for each operation, OPro freezes the machine for 90 seconds -- it
gives no hourglass or other indication of doing anything, just twiddle
thumbs and wait for iconbar clock to jump to correct time, which is
the only clue that OPro has finished. i presume OPro is reflowing the
rest of the document or something. tedious.
is this normal, or is there something i should adjust?
7.5M in file, 78,000 words, 312 pages in 13 chapters.
using OPro 2.77 on a StrongArm RiscPC with OS 4.39.
as you can probably tell, i'm still an OPro novice. this is the first
time i've used it for a job of this size.
