something else I haven't managed to replicate today. Hopefully, it was
a one-off. But if it happens again, I'll try and document the
behaviour in more detail.
This makes me think that shift+click in Windows marks the caret to
click, and I've had problems with Shift lock turning on in Windows and
being hard to turn off.
I think it is an accessibility feature, one presses the shift key a few
times when thinking what to do next, and shift lock turns on...
Ah, could be. I often use shift + right cursor key to select text ...
because right click with Apple's mighty mouse is a bit hit and miss.
