A typical situation: I'm typesetting an article for a book, and want to
check that all the references cited in the text are present in the
bibliography (at the end of the article), and vice versa. So, I open 2
views on the document. In one window I search for each citation in
turn; in the other I locate the reference in the bibliography. The
problem is, when I click in the bibliography window, it affects the
view shown in the other window ... e.g. if I find a citation on page 5
in window 1, as soon as I locate the reference in window 2 and click on
it, window 1 reverts to a different page in the document.
This doesn't happen to me - I wonder though if the situation matters,
the structure of the document or whatever. You say "window 1 reverts..."
might be interesting to see what window 1 moves to, does it keep moving
for each click or what.
Interestingly, I couldn't replicate the behaviour today. But yesterday, as
I recall, it kept moving back to the same page (p.5) in the document.
Another feature was that clicking in W2 would momentarily highlight all
the text back to the previous cursor position in W1 ... something else I
haven't managed to replicate today. Hopefully, it was a one-off. But if it
happens again, I'll try and document the behaviour in more detail.
