The pictures are visible in the OPW document, but when I print the file to PDF using Acrobat Distiller, the pictures are not visible in the PDF.
Is this as expected? Is there away of making them visible in the PDF, or should I be thinking of redrawing the pictures, saving them in DRAW or TIFF format, then reimporting them into OPW?
My guess is this. Your pictures are Windows meta files or enhanced meta files, and you have Ovation Pro set up to do "direct PostScript". OP can't generate PostScript for meta files.
The obvious fix is to turn off direct PostScript, that works as long as you don't have a good reason for wanting direct PostScript turned on.
If you do need direct PS, then you'll have to convert the meta files to some other format.
