From the LCD display onscreen appearance of OPW documents in Windows
XP, I had been under the impression that OPW did not make (proper) use
of the Windows font smoothing facilities -- i.e. the appearance of text
in OPW was decidedly "spidery" in comparison to the appearance of the
same text in MSWORD.
However, I have just downloaded and installed the Windows XP PowerToy
version of the ClearType tuner
[http://www.microsoft.com/typography/ClearTypePowerToy.mspx], and find
that this improves the situation dramatically.
Does anyone have tips for optimising font smoothing in OPW under XP?
