No problem. I'm glad I spotted it before shipping everything to the publisher.

Just to be clear, what should the setting be to give me the desired result -- overprint ON or OFF?

Overprint should be off (which implies knock out on) - so that white text knocks out whatever is behind it.

Bearing in mind that overprint can be set at colour and object/text level.

I am about to create a new Test document. I'm not quite sure what the difference is between colour and object/text level, and what effects these settings have.

When trying to set overprint off/on in my TestOPW document, what I noticed was ... I set overprint to one state over the right-hand picture frame, and then moved to the left-hand picture frame to set overprint to the opposite state. On going back to check the overprint setting over the right-hand frame, I found it had changed! Is one of the settings (colour vs object/text level) global in its effects within a document?
