Sorry for disturbing your sleep. In my setup OVERPRINT is OFF by default in the Object>Modify>Fillcolour menu and the Text>Modify text>Foreground menu

How about in Misc->Edit colours->white

Set to OFF ...

I ran a test earlier this afternoon. I overlaid three small text boxes on each of two picture frames containing a B&W photo (8bpp).
Box 1 = grey (50% black) fill, white text
Box 2 = white fill, black text
Box 3 = transparent fill, white text
The boxes overlying one picture frame had Fill colour>overprint set to OFF, and over the other picture frame set to ON.

Using DirectPS I printed the documents to file, one with generic PS ticked, the other without.

I then converted each PS file to PDF using Acrobat Distiller 8.1.3 at Press Quality.

The resulting PDFs look fine.

When the PDFs were printed to the LJ P3005 PS printer, both PDFs (and both pictures within the PDFs) gave the same result.
Box 1 appears as a GREY square, no text
Box 2 appears as black text, no white background
Box 3 no text visible (background transparent)

I've uploaded the original OPW document, the PS outputs, and the PDFs to the usual location ... single zip file called TestOPW ... in case they are of interest?

Regards
