[softwarelist] Re: OPW - PDF - Printing

MY QUESTION IS ... what could be the cause of the problem when outputting the PDF to a PS printer? Is the same likely to happen when the PDF is printed commercially?

The interesting thing is that the problem is with white - normally one would expect problems with transparency (because support for that varies between levels of PS and printer drivers).

The only thing I can think of regarding white, is the colour model it is defined in - CMYK 'v' RGB.

There's the point that you're printing PDF files, so rendering is one step separated from the original PostScript that OP generated.

One could think about the PS level - direct PS choices.

Or generate a simple version of the document, just the bits that render wrongly and see if they render wrongly when on their own.

The latest version of OPW supports the PS overprint setting in composite files, I can't see why this would have any bearing on things but it is a change.
