Wine seems to have improved since I tried it over a year ago. I think I did
figure out a work-around for that error message, but can't remember what it
was. 

However, the bottom line was that whilst I could persuade OP to run under
Wine, it was not sufficiently stable to be used as a production platform, so
I resurrected my Risc PC, solely for writing documentation.

I was supposed to have started porting OPro to Linux earlier this year, but
a major (i.e. lucrative) commercial project came along to displace it.
However, watch this space, as they say.
