Like many Acorn users I started DTP using Impression.
When I swopped to using Ovation I found one feature
that just does not work at all well - namely kerning.
Being a typographer by trade, I like to visually
adjust the letter-spacing of display size text - for
titles and headings. Letter by letter.
Impression does this beautifully - hold down control
and press E to add space or R to reduce it.
In Ovation one holds down control+shift and presses
either ; (to close up) or ' (to increase the space).
BUT (and it's a big BUT) the characters leap about
all over the place - some increasing the letterspace and
others closing up. Eventually I can acheive the desired
result - but it ain't easy!!!!
Am I missing something? I have searched the manual but
to no avail.

Can anyone help - how about an applet to overcome this?
