Interesting discussion... I've a couple of comments.
There is a function itors() which gives the roman string for a decimal
number. You could define a macro with a body of:
{macv=itors(222)}
if you wanted to insert the roman string for 222. It would be very
simple to turn this into an applet which provided someway of collecting
the number from the user. In fact it might be possible to do it as a
macro.
itors == Integer TO Roman String - a poor name with hindsight.
Secondly, roman strings appear in auto numbered paragraphs. There is
probably a way of numbering pages using this (if the built in page
numbers are not what you want) - something like an auto link chain of
frames loaded with a big file of <space><return> sequences.
