[softwarelist] Re: Imposition signatures?

I looked into doing some work with OPro's imposition functions some time
ago, but never got to quite finish things off. I spent quite a lot of
time studying the existing scripts and all the imposition and printing
functions available, but I remember having difficulty trying to get it
to produce the layout I needed, and sadly I never got back to looking at
it again.

I'd always planned on attempting a separate program to create an
imposition script editor (of sorts). The idea being, you arrange your
layout graphically then it creates the OPro script for that layout. But
in reality it's such a huge task to do, that it just isn't worth it, as
there are other products around that do the job much better - admittedly
not much on RISC OS though! I guess the time has now passed for the
demand for such specialist software for the RISC OS market.

The imposition packages available on Mac or PC can be very expensive,
running into the thousands, but for those looking for a 'relatively'
cheap option I can recommend Quite Imposing and Quite Imposing Plus from
www.quite.com - it works as a plug-in for Adobe Acrobat and offers a
whole range of imposition and manipulation features for PDF files.
