As far as I was concerned DplngScan and TWAIN were joined at the hip.

I am using a RPC-SA 128+1M RISC OS 4.39, Scanner Mustek 600 CP. You
can see that I am not expecting miracles.

Checking the TWAIN module reveals that it is 0.00 (30 Nov 1993). I
was not aware of any updates.

The best result is obtained using 100dpi Grey with Superscale, dither
makes no difference. This is very acceptable. Mottling is no longer
apparent (as scanned).

Many thanks for your help.
