I'd beg to differ. As far as I recall my 32 bit apps work on 64 bit win.But system tools, drivers, anything that is dependent on the details of win 32, I can imagine will not work - probably one could class this as software that is not written by the rules.
At some point, circa 2006, I had one machine set up with XP 64 and I did quite a lot of software writing on it - so for sure OP works, I did do a 64 bit version of DPScan.
