I think you've said most that can be said. MakeRTF is the thing to get.
My feeling (having contacted him a few years back) is that David Breakwell no longer wants to be involved with the Acorn/Ovation world, and should probably be left alone.
I think it might be a good idea to have MakeRTF on Chris Johnson's Ovation resources site.
MakeRTF is a "trans" filter, not an applet, so the usual admonition, it is not supposed to go in the Applets folder but will do no harm if you do put it there.
