I doubt that the font is really replaced in the PDF. At a guess, you
are using !PDF to view the PDF file and !PDF is not very good at
embedded fonts. Actually, it shows hardly any embedded fonts at all,
but the one rather uncommon type it does cope with happens to be the
one used by the Acorn printer driver most of the time.
If the resulting PDF file is viewed using a more font literate PDF
viewer (e.g., Adobe Reader, RiScript or GView/Ghostscript), then you
will probably see the correct font.
