Are you suggesting that Pineasple could have done that as well?  ;-)

I use AVG free version - which is very good and saved me from several
viruses - BUT it does sometimes give false positives and quarantine
legitimate files. It's possible that it has done something similar in your
case, although I would have expected more people to have felt the effects.

There is a forum for AVG users, which is read by the writers, and they do
pick up very quickly on any problems experienced.
