Firstly, I have had 1000's of emails from "Barclays" and I don't have an
account with them. The same goes for some of the other major banks. As
the banks say, do not reply or follow any instructions, some of them are
quite tempting.
Much more serious is if the mail list is being used to send spam. The
old list, run by Neil Spellings company was turned off yesterday. I
gather from the header that the spam came from that source.
So to some extent the problem is now solved because the old list is no
longer running. However I doubt the spam came directly through the list.
I didn't get a copy.
If anyone sees something similar, let me know and I'll follow up the
matter.
It's a mystery to me how anyone copes with using eBay, such is the
density of fake emails.
