El Festival Internacional de Video-danza de Buenos Aires realizará una nueva 
edición a fines de noviembre. Las actividades a desarrollarse (proyecciones de 
video-danza, un laboratorio de residencias en intercambio con el Reino Unido, 
talleres y conferencias) propenden a combinar observación, reflexión y 
propuestas, siempre en un marco que alienta la diversidad. 

Este género híbrido es capaz de dar una generosa acogida tanto a bailarines 
aficionados de más de 65 años (de la mano de Pina Bausch y Lilo Mangelsdorff) 
como a jóvenes propuestas autorreflexivas bocetadas al pasar (dentro del 
capítulo brasileño del Circuito Videodanza Mercosur), como a la potencia de la 
producción internacional reciente (con el aporte de South East Dance/RU, el 
festival sueco SHOOT y miríadas de artistas independientes).

 

Video-danza | Convocatoria 2006

El Festival Internacional de Video-danza de Buenos Aires abre su convocatoria 
de preselección para su octava edición, a realizarse del 27 de noviembre al 2 
de diciembre de 2006.

La convocatoria se abre en dos categorías:

I.                    Video-danza como forma artística

II.                 Documentales sobre danza

Definición de las categorías:

I. Video-danza como forma artística: Trabajos audiovisuales, realizados en 
cualquier soporte, con coreografía original o re-elaborada para su filmación o 
grabación en video. La premisa es que la imagen y el movimiento deben sostener 
un diálogo artístico en el cual no sea posible escindir un lenguaje del otro. 
No se aceptarán meros registros de coreografías escénicas. Duración máxima 
aceptada en esta categoría: 20 min. 

II. Documentales sobre danza: Trabajos audiovisuales de género documental en 
los cuales el sujeto sea un artista, compañía, obra o proceso dancístico de 
cualquier estilo. El registro audiovisual debe dialogar y/o aportar elementos 
de lenguaje a la obra coreográfica en cuestión. No se aceptarán meros registros 
de coreografías escénicas. Duración máxima aceptada en esta categoría: 30 min.

Bases:
a) Podrán presentarse obras realizadas en cualquier soporte audiovisual, 
concluidas entre el 31 de agosto de 2004 y el 31 de agosto de 2006. Es 
condición indispensable que los derechos de autor y de proyección estén a 
nombre de quien presente la obra.

b) Tanto las convocatorias NACIONAL como INTERNACIONAL se abren el día 1 de 
agosto de 2006 y cierran el 31 de agosto de 2006. La fecha del estampillado 
postal será considerada válida. Deben entregarse personalmente o enviarse por 
correo a FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE VIDEO-DANZA DE BUENOS AIRES, CENTRO DE 
INVESTIGACION CINEMATOGRAFICA: Benjamín Matienzo 2571 (C1426 DAU) Buenos Aires 
- Argentina.

c) Un jurado conformado por tres personas (a designar) seleccionará los 
trabajos que se exhibirán en ambas categorías como parte de la programación del 
festival. Los resultados serán comunicados a los participantes el 20 de 
septiembre de 2006. Los miembros del jurado considerarán las obras de cualquier 
procedencia en igualdad de condiciones y sus fallos serán inapelables.


Material a presentar:

1) una copia en DVD NTSC o PAL multizona con la obra presentada.

2) ficha de inscripción debidamente cumplimentada (disponible a partir del 20 
de julio de 2006 en www.videodanzaba.com.ar ).

3) una carpeta conteniendo la sinopsis de la obra, datos del realizador y 
coreógrafo, y lista completa de intérpretes y técnicos (destacando qué función 
desempeña cada uno).

4) 3 fotos de la obra (digitalizadas en alta definición en un CD).

Call 2006 - August 1 to 31, 2006

The International Video-dance Festival of Buenos Aires is back in swing. 

The activities to be held (video-dance screenings, the lab, workshops and 
lectures) aim to combine observation, reflection and proposals, in a frame that 
encourages diversity. 

Video-dance -this hybrid genre- is able to give a generous wellcome either to 
amateur dancers over 65 (brought by choreographer Pina Bausch and filmmaker 
Lilo Mangelsdorff) or to young sketched autorreflective pieces (in the 
Brazilian chapter of Circuito Videodanza Mercosur), as well as the strongest 
international recent production (with the supply of the South East Dance, the 
Swedish festival SHOOT and an array of independent artists)

 

Video-dance | Call 2006

The International Video-dance Festival of Buenos Aires calls for selection for 
its eighth edition, to be held from November 27 to December 2, 2006.

The call has two categories:

I.                    Video-dance as an art form

II.                 Documentaries on dance

Definition of each category:

I. Video-dance as an art form: Audiovisual pieces, realized in any format, 
using original o re-staged choreography filmed or recorded onto video. Image 
and movement should have an artistic dialogue, in which it would not be 
possible to separate one language from the other. Mere documentations of stage 
choreographies won't be accepted. Maximum length for this category: 20 min. 

II. Documentaries on dance: Audiovisual pieces in the documentary genre in 
which the subject is either an artist, a company, a piece or a dance process in 
any style. The audiovisual documentation should dialogue and/or supply elements 
of language to the choreographic piece. Mere documentations of stage 
choreographies won't be accepted.  Maximum length for this category: 30 min. 


Regulations:
a) Pieces realized in any audiovisual format, finished between August 31st., 
2004 and August 31st., 2006, would be presented. It is essential that the 
presenter of the piece holds all copyright and screening rights.

b) Both the INTERNATIONAL and NATIONAL CALLS open on August 1st., 2006 and 
closes on August  31st., 2006. Postmarked date will be valid. They should be 
presented in person or sent by regular mail to: FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE

NO INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE COURRIERS, PLEASE.

c) A Jury of three people (to be assigned) will select the pieces to be 
screened in both categories as part of the festival's programme. The results 
will be communicated to the participants on September 20th., 2006. The members 
of the Jury will equally consider pieces of any origin and their decisions 
cannot be appealed.




Material to be sent:

1) A multizone DVD, NTSC or PAL, with the piece to be considered.

2) A filled in entry form (available since July 20th., 2006 at 
www.videodanzaba.com.ar ).

3) A synopsis of the piece, data of the filmmaker and choreographer, and a 
complete list of performers and technicians. 

4) 3 photos of the piece (digitized in high resolution on a CD-ROM).
