Matthew Diamond's Oscar-nominated documentarytakes viewers inside the dance
company of renowned choreographer Paul Taylor.Not only
does the film catch intimate moments as
dance director and dancer develop new steps, it manages to get inside
the minds of his subjects to a surprising degree. Capturing both the triumphant 
and the solemn, Diamond portrays Taylor's genius without fawning over him.
Rounding out the footage
of Taylor and his dancers are interviews with critics and staff members
and stunning black-and-white clips of Taylor's days as one of Martha
Graham's featured dancers.  Among many honors, the International Documentary 
Association
named it Best Feature Film.
Dance Films Association Artistic Director Dierdre Towers will lead a discussion 
with Matthew Diamond after the screening.  Diamond's directing has brought him 
an
Oscar nomination, four Emmy Awards, three Director's Guild Awards and the 
Humanitas
Award. He has directed many music specials as well as a long list of dramatic 
programming.
His credits include numerous episodes of prime time television including 
Desperate
Housewives, Eureka and Scrubs.  Diamond has won Emmy Awards as Best Director for
 the children's series Shining Time Station, two daytime dramas, and American 
Ballet
Theater's Le Corsaire. He received the Humanitas Award for the CBS drama Between
 Mother and Daughter.
His record breaking movie Camp Rock for the Disney Channel, starring the Jonas 
Brothers
and Demi Lovato aired this past summer, and most recently he directed the series
 So You Think You Can Dance for Fox.
