You need to create a host that EIMS does not think is local (unless you are
feeding both outbound and inbound through assp).

I created assp.oitc.com which is NOT listed in EIMS as a local domain.
assp.oitc.com points to assp port 25. So spam is sent to assp-spam@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Tom: thanks for the quick reply. When you say you "created" the domain do
you mean you listed it as a local domain in assp?

No in dns. Problem is if you send via emis a message to a host that eims
supports, eims never sends it out it just routes it internal so you have to
have a host name that eims doesn know about that routes to assp.

ok..I think I got you...just create a sub-domain in DNS for assp.mydomain.com
with an MX record pointing to the IP address of the server?

yeup

erm...OK, I tried to create a subdomain assp.domain.com in DNS, with an mx record aliased to the primary mx for the domain.com.

When I test the DNS for assp.domain.com the MX points to the correct IP.

I tried forwarding some spam to assp-spam@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx but I get an error:
