[cseb national] Ontario members - Spring 2006 Migratory Bird Rescue - Volunteers needed!!

FYI
Wendy Thomson

--------

Hello everybody,

Spring bird migration is just around the corner and the Fatal Light Awareness Program (FLAP) is preparing to rescue even more birds this year. Last year, our dedicated team of 50 volunteers rescued over 4,700 birds from 98 species that had tragically hit windows here in Toronto. Two thousand of these birds found dead during Fall 2005 migration will be publicly displayed at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) on Wednesday, March 8th.

Please find attached a calendar of events & bird rescue training workshops. We hope you will be able to join us at many of these.

We need to recruit many more volunteers in the downtown area this year as we are expanding the territory beyond the Financial District to include Bloor to the Lake & University to Jarvis. In partnership with the City of Toronto, we hope to rescue as many birds as possible at night and throughout the day.

Hope to see you soon.

Best wishes,

Susan
