Curator of Conservation Programs
 
In this role, you will collaborate and represent the Zoo within the zoological 
and conservation communities, serve as an academic resource to staff and 
maintain close liaison with curatorial, scientific and research staff on local, 
national and international educational and research efforts.  You will also 
implement Zoo activities, develop volunteer training, organize educational 
programs, and prepare annual budgets.  Committed to conservation efforts, 
animal welfare and community contribution, you will develop partnerships and 
agencies, obtain funding, participate in various committees, and prepare and 
review research proposals.
 
You have a post-graduate degree in biological sciences field along with the 
expertise in conservation biology (or the equivalent experience and training).  
You also have several years of experience in conservation education of plants, 
animals and habitats.  Zoo, aquarium or botanical garden experience would be an 
asset.  Your dynamic supervisory and interpersonal skills are supported by your 
expertise in communication and presentations.  You have an understanding of 
Occupational Health & Safety legislation, proven organizational skills and 
experience in obtaining grants and/or corporate support.
