CCHREI Provides Internship Wage Subsidies for Employers
CCHREI (The Canadian Council for Human Resources in the Environment

Development Canada, respectively. Both programs provide wage subsidies
for your members if they have recently hired, or plan to hire, a young
environmental professional (30 years old or under).
CCHREI is a not-for-profit organization offering environmental career
resources such as a job board, career profiles, recruitment strategies,
professional development options, career planning tools, performance
management strategies, professional certification and more. You may

Program Details

The Canadian Council for Human Resources in the Environment Industry
(CCHREI), in partnership with Environment Canada and Human Resources
Development Canada is pleased to announce the continuation of the
Environmental Youth Corp. (EYC) wage subsidy program and the BEAHR
Internship Program. Both programs are designed to help recent graduates
(under the age of 30) from a college and university find work with
environmental employers.

The program provides up to 40% in wage subsidy with a maximum of $12,000
to employers who fill new positions with young professionals. Since its
inception in 1997, the programs have created over 1800 job opportunities
based on national and international environmental projects. Both
potential employers and job seekers can apply for the program by
visiting www.cchrei.ca/eyc.

Funding is available for two distinct programs, the BEAHR Internship
Program and the International Environmental Youth Corp. (IEYC). To
apply for the BEAHR Internship Program, the employer must hire an
Aboriginal person. Alternatively, to qualify for the IEYC funding, the
environmentally related position must have an international component or
directly increase a company's capacity to perform international work.
Some examples of international components include:

is considered international)

-Globally significant issues (e.g. global warming, greenhouse gas
emissions, cross-border migratory species, endangered species, etc.)

-Liaison with international organizations and clients

-International partnerships

-Significant contributions on international publication
