The Canadian Land Reclamation Association/
Association Canadienne de réhabilitation des sites
dégradés (CLRA/ACRSD) is a non-profit organization
that was incorporated in 1975.
The main objectives of CLRA/ACRSD are:
•To further knowledge and encourage investigation of
problems and solutions in land reclamation.
• To provide opportunities for those interested in and
concerned with land reclamation to meet and
exchange information, ideas and experience.
•To incorporate advances from research and practical
experience into land reclamation planning and practice.
•To encourage education in the field of land
reclamation.
•To provide awards for noteworthy achievements in the
field of land reclamation.
IALR
The IALR provides an international information
exchange network for sharing technology relating to the
reclamation of lands disturbed by mineral extraction and
processing. It is comprised of: American Society for
Mining and Reclamation (ASMR), British Land
Reclamation Society (BLRS), Minerals Council of
Australia and the China Land Reclamation Society.
The Venue
One of the most beautiful capitals in the world, Ottawa
enjoys the attributes of a major centre with the atmosphere
and charm of a smaller city. The conference will be held
at the Crowne Plaza hotel in downtown Ottawa. A
block of guest rooms has been reserved for the confer-
ence at a special conference rate of only $119 + taxes.
Rooms must be booked before July 28, 2006 to guarantee
this rate.
Call for Papers
Abstracts are sought on a variety of reclamation,
restoration and remediation topics including, but not
limited to:
•Mining
•Aggregates
•Oil & Gas
•Forestry
The deadline for submission of abstracts is March 1,
2006. Submissions should include contact name,
organization, address, phone and fax number and email
address. Abstracts should be limited to 300 words using
Times New Roman 12 font, and should preferably be
submitted electronically to CLRA2006@xxxxxxxxxxx in
MS Word 2003. Abstracts may also be forwarded via
mail or fax (see Contact Info).
Please indicate if your preference is for an oral or poster
presentation and if you wish to be considered for the
student competition (must meet eligibility).
Primary authors will be notified of acceptance by March
31, 2006. For those accepted, the deadline for camera
ready papers is June 30, 2006.
