Welcome to the CSEB listerv (mailing list). The CSEB listserv is an email
mailing list which will allow CSEB members to rapidly communicate to all
other members. This list is intended to be a tool that will help people to
interact, communicate and exchange on issues of common interest. It will be
used as a primary method for circulating information on CSEB meetings,
documents, activities etc. Anyone with information relevant to CSEB members
should feel free to post it to the list.
Membership on the listserv is optional. Initially, all the active members
having an email address have been included. Members can add or remove their
email addresses from the list.
This list is not intended to generate a lot of email traffic. It is a
moderated list, so only emails relevant to CSEB members will be posted.
Attachments will not be forwarded through the listserv.
All postings will be archived as a public record of discussions related to
CSEB.
For more information on this listserv and other CSEB work, please feel
free to contact Shawn Martin <smartin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Here are some further details about the mechanics of this list:
Q: What is a mailing list?
A: A mailing list is simply a list of people all interested in the topic of
the list. It's a discussion group. There are two principal types: One
allows everyone who's "Subscribed," or part of the group, to post their
ideas or responses to others' ideas. The other type doesn't allow
anyone but the moderator to post or approve the subscribers' posts
before they go on the list.
Q: What's "VACATION" mode?
A: Vacation is a flag you can set on any list you're subscribed to. It
essentially means that you won't receive any list traffic until you unset
it. Any time you head out of town for a long weekend, you should set
Vacation if the list(s) you're on has a lot of traffic to avoid filling your
mailbox.
Q: How can I be removed from a list?
A: There are a couple ways of getting off the list. The easiest is to send
an email to cseb-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx and put "unsubscribe"
(without the quotes) in the Subject line of the email. Secondly, you can
go to http://www.freelists.org and unsubscribe yourself from there.
Q: How can I join the CSEB mailing list?
A: You can send an email to cseb-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx and put
"subscribe" (without the quotes) in the Subject line of the email. You
can also go to http://www.freelists.org and subscribe yourself from
there.
Q: Are there any archives of my list?
A: Yes, there is a web-based, fully-searchable archive at
http://www.freelists.org/archives/cseb. The archive will be
automatically updated as new messages come in.
Q: How do I send a message to the listserve?
A: Put <cseb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> as the address of the message.
The mailing list has already generated some useful messages, and naturally I
hope it provides some useful information to you.
Keep thinking of CSEB and get involved in your local chapter and reap some
of the rewards participation offers.
All the best for the New Year!
