[cseb] Re: CSEB Domain

CSEB is the acronym I think most recognize, and I agree it would be good to
register it.

Subject: [cseb] CSEB Domain

A while back we discussed the benefits of CSEB registering our own domain
name. I think it would be a good idea (longevity, connection with email
server such as membership@xxxxxxxx, etc.). I checked on the net and it
appears cseb.net is currently available (cseb.com and cseb.org both taken,
although cseb.org expires in May 2002 if it is not renewed). I do not have
detailed costs, but registration is $20 to $40 cdn per year, and then we
would need to find a web host ($200 per year???). Part of the benefit is
that we can change hosts, but still keep the domain/emails, etc.

As I am looking into ordering letterhead for the organization, it may be a
good time to move forward on domain registration so it can be included on
the letterhead.

What are the members thoughts on this? Also, if we go ahead, what name
should we register (cseb; cseb-scbe; cansocenvbiol; etc.)

Thanks

Gary Ash
