Greetings CCM Competitors,
First, I apologize for not getting an article submitted for the Slipstream. In
such cases I'll utilize this email list to distribute information.
Your competition committee is working hard planning the upcoming season. It's
already February and our first event is planned to be just over two months
away. Please find attached to this email a tentative schedule of events for
2017. We are still subject to the date bidding process utilized by the
Michigan Region NCCC clubs, which will occur on February 23rd. I do not
anticipate any changes going forward, but please consider this schedule
tentative until that point.
If you are interested in chairing an autocross this year, please let me know.
Our autocrosses this year will again be at the Schoolcraft facility in Livonia.
As we are renting this facility, we are bound to the rental hours that are
agreed to in the rental contract. Given that we ran over our rental time a few
times last year, we will be making attempts at streamlining the day
(particularly for our sanctioned events) to avoid going past our rental time.
Pre-registering for events to help speed up the registration and try to plan
groups ahead of time will be key to getting started on time, and thus we will
be increasing the entry fee for day-of-event registration to provide incentive
to pre-register. We are also looking at moving our start time earlier in the
day. Please see event fliers once the schedule is firm for details on these
items.
We will once again return to the Lake Pointe Soccer Park in Plymouth for our
annual picnic and concours.
A note on autocross rules updates for 2017 - NCCC has given allowance for
two-piece rotors (same material, size and weight as stock) in all Groups and
classes. Keep in mind that any changes you make to your car per NCCC rules may
affect your Detroit Council classing, so please mod your cars wisely. If you
have questions regarding rules and car prep please ask me.
