Per below, a note from Max Antoine II who is Haitian government director
of development for the border region. Please encourage others to write,
photograph and report community assessments for posting and circulation.
Avoid vague appeals for money. Suggest establishing a "preparedness fund"
for advance purchase and placement of equipment, supplies, medicine,
mobility, etc. for the next bad event.
Thanks.

Thank you Stuart
The situation in Haiti today is disastrous mainly in the southern area
But most cities and regions have been hit - by heavy rains or wind
I've asked the congressmen of the border area to prepare an evaluation
of the losses and damages in order for us to adress our request to friends
and or organizations of the international community
I hope that by tommorrow or towards the end of the week they could put
together some documentation. For it is difficult to circulate because of
the rain and difficult terrain
But in the meantime I know that Anse a Pitres and Thomazeau have been
severely hurt
I will keep you posted in order to coordinate any support or donation
coming through your channel
Thank you so much

Hi, Max. I am receiving other open-ended, ambiguous appeals for money
without accompanying evidence or photos of storm-related losses and
damages. So far, very little details are coming from Haiti.
However, if the border region has suffered from the hurricane and if the
mayors can write an assessment of their storm-related recovery needs, I
could help you put together and circulate an appeal. There are several
Haitian hometown associations we can reach out to with fact-based appeals.
I hope you and your family are safe and sound.
'best,
Stuart
